Pastor Rodney Kennedy

Rodney D. Kennedy, born in Logan County West Virginia on September 18th, 1946, is the son of Roger and Carlye Kennedy.  At the age of 13, he began a lifelong relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He immediately began serving in his local church and developed a gift for teaching and a love for ministry.  After graduating from St. Albans High School he enrolled in Evangel College, where he majored in Education.

He married Joyce Ann Fain of St. Albans, West Virginia in 1966.  After many years of serving in lay ministry, he was ordained in 1972 and answered the call of God on his life to full time pastoral ministry.  He earned his ministerial degree from Berean College.  In 1990, he received his Doctor of Ministry from Logos Graduate School in Miami, Florida.

He served as Associate Pastor in the Charleston First Assembly of God Church for 4 years.  He served as Senior Pastor in Clifton Forge, Virginia for 2 years and moved to Florida, where he is serving his 28th year as Senior Pastor of Seminole Assembly of God Church. 


A pastor and evangelist for nearly 3 decades, Dr. Kennedy has served in a variety of District and Sectional boards, including the District Presbytery.  His ministry has included numerous church revivals, youth camps, children crusades and conventions.

Dr. Kennedy is the proud father of 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  His son Tim along with his wife Danielle, serve as the music director at Seminole Assembly.  His daughter Amy and her husband Kenny live in McMinville, TN, where Kenny is an Associate Pastor.  His youngest daughter Angie and her husband Josh, live in Mobile, AL where Josh is Associate Pastor at an Assembly of God church.

In March of 1995, Joyce, his wife of 29 years, passed away.  Six years later God brought a new helpmate into his life.  He remarried in October of 2000.  He and his wife Carla continue to minister at Seminole Assembly.

Dr. Kennedy is an anointed preacher and gifted teacher of the Gospel.  His presentation of the Word is forthright, challenging and life applicable.  He will provoke you to thought and encourage you to be transformed by the Living Word.
